I've finished my first proper piece of stop motion animation off. Now I've been set an animation with 2 characters. I'm seriously looking forward to it and will be sure to upload it here. Thanks for reading! Have fun! Add Comment I started off the week by modelling a Morph! He is deceptively simple with a lot more nuance in him than I expected. This was a great introduction into sculpting plastecine, which I hadn't done much of, and a warning to the amount of work ahead! I was then set the task to create poses portraying various emotions. This exercise is an animation staple however this appears to be the first time that I have seriously done it. It was great fun and a good challenge. I finished off this week with my first piece of stop motion animation concentrating strongly on emotion and body mechanics. This has been the longest time that I have spent on a single short section of animation since my first year in university and it comes with a great feeling! It takes a lot of planning, a lot of concentration, a lot of patience, and I love it!! This video here is a work in progress and I'll be finishing it off on Monday. _Thanks for reading! Have fun! _I'm taking a 2 week break from freelancing to do some work experience at Aardman to try my hand at some stop motion animation! Hopefully I will have some sweet footage to put up here by the end of it. So, first day at Aardman today. Not sure what I am and am not allowed to tell you about what happens within its walls though, I've signed an NDA (Non-discolsure Agreement). I can tell you that I made a morph today. It took me quite a while to make him. He has a lot more subtleties than you would think. I learnt a lot from making him and I'm looking forward to tomorrow where I will be posing out a character conveying various emotions such as dispair, happiness and confusion. This time Beyond the Bean sent us a crate of their smoothies and half a dozen boxes of cookies. Oh baby! _ Thanks for reading! Have fun! This was a great little project that came my way through Sun and Moon Studios. I was given the storyboard for this autumny advert and I created the final animation for it. The guys and gals at Beyond the Bean also sent us a crate of their smoothies to power us through the project! Thank you folks! Thanks for reading! Have fun! I learnt to knit on the weekend. A house mate's nan came to stay. So now I am the semi-proud owner of 2 knitting needles and a ball of red wool. I've started my first ever scalf and I want to challenge myself with a bit of a pattern. This is my plan: Creating this pattern turned into a fun exercise in composition. I think I might make more of these! Thanks for reading! Have fun! Well, I've been working at Sun and Moon studios for around 3 months now and I can now share some of the work that I've been doing: I animated a bunch of different animals in a game called "Deadly 60: Deadly Planet". The work I am most proud of is the animation for the birds of prey in the game however I think you have to complete most of the game to be able to see them. Animals that I animated that appear early in the game are the giraffe and the millipede. The hands in an earlier post are from this animation for PharmaVentures. I animated the expert with the square glasses, all the people in the board room scene and the people on the basketball court at the end (all except the main character). I also drew all the backgrounds for the entire animation. It was great fun working on two's in Flash and I hope another project like that comes my way soon. Thanks for reading! Have fun! The title of this post isn't a backhanded swipe at God, it is how this illustration found its final look. I've been on and off of this illustration for the past 2 weeks and inspiration from various artists I've been looking at has made the final image very different from what I imagined it would be upon starting. The image on the left is the final composition and the image on the right is a close look at the detail of the image. Thanks for reading! Have fun! I drew this as a rough to work out how to position the arm and hand for an animation. I quite liked the sketch so I decided to immortalise it here: | Who's writing?
